Thailand is a paradise for birds, and therefore also for bird-watchers. Some 992 species or approximately 10% of all the bird species of the world can be found here. Hardly surprising than that this country is acting as a magnet to the bird watchers of the rest of the world.

The cool season is the best time for these ornithologists. It's the time when birds migrate from the cold of more northern places like Mongolia, Siberia, China and Korea, flocking to their ancestral second homes in Southeast Asia. In this part of Thailand, they're particularly attracted to the highest mountains; Doi Inthanon, Doi Angkhang, Doi Pahompok, Doi Suthep and Doi Chiangdao among them, Doi Inthanon is famous for bird-watching in Thailand because there are some 382 species or approximately 38.2% of all the bird species of Thailand.
Pick up time: 05.30am. Travel to Doi Intanon National Park, First stop for birding at the second check point, 1-2 hours. Take a break for morning tea. Continue birding until Lunch-time, can be flexible. then onto the peak for more birding.
Return to Chiangmai. On the way back we will stop a few times for birding. First at Siribhoom waterfall and then Wachiratarn waterfall, time permitting, we will make more stops along the way, all of sites are located inside the national park.
Depending on your schedule and energy level, we can cut the day short and return you to the HomeStay by 16:00 or stretch the day to around 18:00.
