Sawasdee Khrap

That's a polite, masculine, Thai, greeting.
For a lady it's, Sawasdee Khaa. Both are
accompanied with a "wai", a brief prayer-like gesture.

Hi, I'm James, my Wife's name is May.

If you're looking for hotel accommodations in Chiang Mai, might I suggest a friendlier alternative? The Rose of Suthep offers more than accommodation, we can personally take you sight-seeing, shopping, night clubbing or whatever you like. That's got to be better than a hotel!

Welcome to Amazing Thailand. One of the worlds most exotic countries. Thailand's natural beauty is breathtaking and her people are so friendly. Thai Hospitality is legendary. Thailand has a rich and diverse culture that has endured since time immemorial. Welcome also, to our home.
Like family, we welcome you with open arms. We'll meet you at Chiang Mai International Airport (or the bus or train station) and bring you to our home, where you can rest after your journey, join us for a meal, indulge yourself with a Thai Massage or head out to see the sights, or the night-life. We can arrange anything and everything for you. With or without us, our staff, and our helpful friends, we're sure you'll have a great time in Chiang Mai, The Rose of the North.

Whether you are coming to Chiang Mai for business, pleasure, low cost medical procedures or you are considering retiring or relocating to Thailand, consider the advantages of having friendly and helpful hosts willing to assist you in any way.
A personal taxi service that is always at hand (ok, that'd be me...). A Thai-English translator (May) to assist you at the immigration office, bank, or whatever.
If you are considering a permanent move to the north of Thailand, we can help you find your new home, negotiate price, translate contracts etc... Someone on your side.
Meanwhile you have a clean, comfortable, affordable place to stay (discounts apply for longer stays) and the opportunity to learn some Thai language and customs.
More details about retiring in Thailand and how we can help.

Are you planning a wedding? A traditional Thai wedding with traditional Thai costume and all the frills is a beautiful occasion... and you're already AT your honeymoon destination!
We can plan the whole event for you, and it will be significantly cheaper than a similarly elaborate wedding in the west, even considering airfares!

We can create an all-inclusive fixed-price package, just for you. With everything you want and nothing you don't, all accommodation, meals, sight-seeing, activities... everything! (except your shopping, of course. LOL) Just contact us, we can arrange everything! We can even travel with you and be your guides all over Thailand.

The Rose of Suthep HomeStay is a private home in the city of Chiang Mai, Thailand, Also known as "The Rose of the North". We enjoy glorious views of the famous mountain "Doi Suthep", and the 700 year old temple (Wat Prathat Doi Suthep) on top, shown in the picture at the top of the page. pic taken from a bedroom window at The Rose of Suthep Home Stay.

FEATURED ATTRACTION

The Elephant Nature Park is an indepentant, non-profit, sanctuary. One woman's passion to end cruelty to Thailand's national animal.
If you wish to see elephants performing, try another camp, the purpose of the Elephant Nature Park is the care of the animal, not the entertainment of the tourist.
Much more rewarding than watching these magnificent animals play football... .
